چکیده

Mathematical analysis of the acoustic wave propagation along coaxial waveguide, whose right part outer wall is impedance-coated, considered. By determining boundary conditions corresponding to relevant geometry, value problem solved by applying Mode-Matching technique. At end analysis, numerical computations are carried out illustrate affect some parameters. The results demonstrate significance absorbing lining in reducing unwanted noise.

Three-dimensional coupled mode analysis of internal-wave acoustic ducts.

A fully three-dimensional coupled mode approach is used in this paper to describe the physics of low frequency acoustic signals propagating through a train of internal waves at an arbitrary azimuth. A three layer model of the shallow water waveguide is employed for studying the properties of normal modes and their coupled interaction due to the presence of nonlinear internal waves. Using a robu...

Impedance of a Long Slot in a Coaxial Beam Pipe*

We derive an analytical expression for the coupling impedance and loss factor of a long narrow slot in a coaxial beam pipe. The method used differs from the classical Bethe’s theory of diffraction since we define differential polarizabilities to take into account the effect of the interference between the fields scattered all along the slot. The expressions obtained are thus valid even for slot...

Sound Propagation in a Pipe Containing a Liquid of Comparable Acoustic Impedance

A detailed experimental study of sound propagation in liquids contained by pipes constructed of polymeric materials is discussed. Experiments were conducted with vertically aligned cylinders containing water ensonified at one end by a piston-driven sound source. Significant sound attenuation (as much as 60 dB} was observed in pipes made of flexible polymeric materials, the effect increasing wit...

Wave Propagation in a Coaxial System

A solution is obtained for the problem of the propagation of electromagnetic waves in a semi-infinite flanged coaxial line with an infinite center conductor, in terms of an infinite set of coefficients which are determined by an infinite set of linear equations. The solution is discussed, in detail, in limiting cases which illustrate properties both of a thin vertical antenna on a plane perfect...

Wave transport along surfaces with random impedance

We study transport and di usion of classical waves in two-dimensional disordered systems and in particular surface waves on a at surface with randomly uctuating impedance. We derive from rst principles a radiative transport equation for the angularly resolved energy density of the surface waves. This equation accounts for multiple scattering of surface waves as well as for their decay because o...
